Research Posters. If you plan to present your research at a poster
session, this is the class for you! We'll begin by analyzing sample
posters and discussing content and layout strategies. You'll then design
your own poster for maximum rhetorical effectiveness.

Congratulations to Jake Vander Zanden

The Phillip R. Certain Distinguished Faculty Award is given annually to a
newly-tenured faculty person at the annual Tenure Dinner. Dean Sandefur
and his three associate deans, Herb Wang, Magdalena Hauner, and Chuck
Halaby review the list of newly-tenured faculty and select the person they
feel has done outstanding work in teaching, research, and service. This
Fall, Jake Vander Zanden was named the recipient of this
award. Congratulation, Jake!

Congratulations to Steve Carpenter
Steve Carpenter was awarded the Naumann-Thienemann Medal on August 13th in
Montreal. It is the highest international honor in the field of
limnology. He now joins UW Zoology luminaries, Edward Birge, Chauncey
Juday and Arthur Hasler who have received this award.
